[尋根]到訪江心島嶺南學院 任清遠市青聯港區委員

文化新青最有價值莫過於能與工作於娛樂，借工作時間之閑暇遊歷了廣東省多個城市、展覽峰會、交流會、藝術節、劇院，訪其文化景觀，察其發展建設之道。尤其與清遠市結下了深深的緣分。

For young cultural professionals, nothing is more valuable than seamlessly blending work with leisure. Taking advantage of spare moments during work, I have traveled across various cities in Guangdong province, attending exhibitions, summits, exchange programs, arts festivals, and theater performances — exploring cultural landmarks and observing paths of development. Among these experiences, I have formed a particularly deep connection with Qingyuan city.

“與清遠的接觸，大概就只有中學一次交流。今次到訪起碼十年後，深入了解9+2以外廣東城市，唔再係扶貧而係有五大百億，遙族藏族致力非遺傳承，走過嶺南學院會是廣東21所學院的示範區，期待回訪學術交流。”

”My only previous encounter with Qingyuan was a school exchange many years ago. This visit, taking place at least a decade later, offered a deeper understanding of Guangdong’s cities beyond the "9+2" region. No longer defined by poverty alleviation, the city now boasts five major billion-dollar industries. The Yao and Tibetan communities are actively engaged in the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. Walking through Lingnan College, which serves as a model zone for Guangdong’s 21 academies, I look forward to returning for future academic exchanges.“

作為港青了解嶺南文化血脈相連， 如何流動到香港弘揚？對優秀示範區的訪問學習， 互相交流。 此外，香港的經濟、藝術與城市建設在粵港澳大灣區有什麼價值互換？ 同樣是兩地累積寶貴經驗共同發展的一環。 港澳作為嶺南地域創新一員， 透過”尋根“探索嶺南文化自信， 親身體驗會是重要途徑。在2023年6月，特地受邀前往清遠市嶺南書院進行考察， 不枉此行。

As a young person from Hong Kong, understanding Lingnan culture and its deep-rooted connections is essential. But how can this cultural heritage flow into Hong Kong and be further promoted? Visiting and learning from exemplary cultural zones fosters meaningful exchanges. Moreover, Hong Kong's economy, arts, and urban development hold unique value within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The exchange of strengths between these regions is a crucial part of their collective growth. As an integral player in Lingnan’s cultural innovation, Hong Kong and Macao can explore cultural confidence through a process of "root-seeking", where firsthand experience becomes a vital pathway.

In June 2023, I had the privilege of being invited to Qingyuan’s Lingnan Academy for a study visit—an experience that proved truly worthwhile.

嶺南書院，作為廣東省嘗試以書院模式打造傳承優秀傳統文化高地的典範，自2021年起便受到了廣泛關註。在廣東省委宣傳部及清遠市委市政府的支持下，清遠市江心島島上書院率先升級，成為了廣東首家嶺南書院（江心島書院）。

Since its inception in 2021, Lingnan Academy has garnered widespread attention as a pioneering institution in Guangdong Province, dedicated to preserving and revitalizing traditional culture through the academy system. With strong support from the Publicity Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Qingyuan Municipal Government, Jiangxin Island Academy in Qingyuan took the lead in this initiative, becoming the first officially recognized Lingnan Academy in Guangdong.

這裏不僅是傳承弘揚優秀傳統文化的高地，更成為了清遠市的城市名片和文化客廳。嶺南書院秉持文化自覺，開啟了書房與島、與城市共生的新篇章。它作為清遠市建設發展中重要的一環，承載著傳承文化、涵養城市文明、鏈接社群和溫潤心靈的多重使命。

More than just a hub for cultural preservation and promotion, Lingnan Academy has become a hallmark of Qingyuan’s identity — serving as both a cultural landmark and a "living room" for the city. Guided by a deep sense of cultural consciousness, the academy has ushered in a new era of coexistence between scholarship, the island, and urban life. As an integral part of Qingyuan’s development, it carries multiple missions: fostering cultural heritage, nurturing civic values, strengthening community connections, and enriching the human spirit.

公共文化政策與實踐：

Public Cultural Policies and Practices:

書院以年為單位開設國學公益課，提供共享書櫃、共享雜誌墻和共享自習室等設施。年均200場的公益課程！吸引了大量市民免費參與，用公益鏈接社群，為市民打造了一個展示自我、提升文化素養的舞臺。這裏也成為了廣東省全省的全民閱讀示範基地，獲得了多方的支持和贊譽。

The academy offers public traditional Chinese culture courses on an annual basis, providing facilities such as shared bookshelves, a shared magazine wall, and a shared study room. With an average of 200 public courses per year, it has attracted a large number of citizens to participate for free. Through public welfare initiatives, the academy connects communities and creates a platform for citizens to showcase themselves and enhance their cultural literacy. It has also become a provincial model base for nationwide reading in Guangdong, receiving widespread support and acclaim.

一個小島可以看看風景，可以置之不理， 也可以，成為那個地區最耀眼的瑰寶。 少少地方方如何規劃建設， 發展的目的清晰而在可以推動的底蘊和資源底下發揮到最好， 這從來不只是錢的問題。香港從小小漁村，成為東方之珠， 隨着時代的沖刷依然亮麗， 不也是這樣的嗎？成功有着很多必然的因素和關鍵， 我們有着優良教育、國際視野、 無窮創意， 香港青年繼續累積宏觀視野， 城市規劃與文化建設和社區大眾需要跨界結合， 提供更多機會讓青年投入社區建設工作實踐， 擴闊”國“的概念， 定必機遇處處。

A small island can offer a beautiful view, be ignored, or become the most dazzling treasure of the region. How to plan and develop a small area depends on clear goals and the ability to maximize its potential with available resources and support. This has never been just about money. Hong Kong, starting as a small fishing village, became the Pearl of the East, and despite the test of time, it still shines brightly. Isn’t this the same? Success has many inevitable factors and key elements. We have excellent education, international perspectives, and endless creativity. Hong Kong’s youth continue to accumulate broad perspectives, and urban planning, cultural development, and community engagement need to cross boundaries and integrate. By providing more opportunities for young people to engage in community-building work, expanding the concept of "nation," opportunities will surely arise everywhere.

在此次對清遠的考察中，在訪查嶺南書院之外，Gip 還榮幸地獲任了清遠市青年聯合會的港區委員。這一崗位不僅是個人實踐的肯定，更是一國兩制方針底下， 粵港青年在促進區域合作和文化傳承中重要意義。

During this visit to Qingyuan, in addition to the research at Lingnan Academy, Gip sir was also honored to be appointed as a Hong Kong District Committee Member of the Qingyuan Youth Federation. This position not only affirms personal practice but also holds significant meaning under the "One Country, Two Systems" framework, highlighting the important role of Hong Kong and Guangdong youth in promoting regional cooperation and cultural heritage.

到訪較為深刻的感受， 是與少數民族交流， 廣西、貴陽、清遠等地鄰近廣東，亦有着不同族裔的少數民族， 着濃厚的自身文化。 大家同為中國人既熟悉又對着文化差異顯然有些陌生， 這麼遠、那麼近。

A particularly profound experience during the visit was the exchange with ethnic minorities. Guangxi, Guiyang, Qingyuan, and other regions near Guangdong are home to various ethnic minorities, each with its own rich cultural heritage. While we are all Chinese, there is a sense of both familiarity and unfamiliarity when facing cultural differences—so distant, yet so close.

        聯想到香港這個國際大都市向來繁華之餘，少數族裔發展多元繁盛， 同樣支撐着香港連繫世界的不同產業與文化的流通，想到這裏，那種陌生又蕩然消失了， 管弦樂團的“瑤族舞曲”演奏得多， 終於有機會親身認識這群老朋友！

When thinking about Hong Kong, this vibrant international metropolis has long been a place where ethnic minority communities flourish, contributing to its rich diversity. They play a crucial role in sustaining various industries and facilitating cultural exchange, serving as vital links between Hong Kong and the world. With this perspective, any initial sense of unfamiliarity quickly disappeared. Having listened to “Dance of the Yao People” performed by orchestras countless times, I finally had the opportunity to meet the people behind the music in person!

The Qingyuan Youth Federation platform, like one of the many stars in the Chinese constellation, connects across industries and regions. With the dedication of young people from different places, we look forward to seeing more fields shine and to driving innovative collaboration between Guangdong and Hong Kong.

筆者 Gip Chan 為香港藝團篋敲擊樂團藝術總監，多年中小學敲擊樂團指揮、音樂總監和顧問，於香港學界帶領學校和同學屢獲殊榮，協助青年成員考取中、浸大、港大、教大、演藝學院以及海外音樂學府資格，亦擔任海內外多個省級國際級比賽評審。除了演奏與教育，現於國內華南地區一等學府星海音樂學院擔任藝術管理本科畢業生論文導師、行進樂隊導師及研究藝術管理，陳氏曾擔任電影檢察組顧問成員、現香港藝術發展局(音樂)資助審批員，致力推動打擊樂亞太和兩岸深度交流發展。

Specific Notes

The author, Gip Chan, is the Artistic Director of the Hong Kong Gip Percussion Ensemble. With years of experience as a conductor, music director, and consultant for percussion ensembles in primary and secondary schools, he has led students to numerous accolades in the Hong Kong academic music scene. He has also guided young musicians in gaining admission to prestigious institutions such as The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, The University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and renowned overseas music conservatories. Beyond performance and education, he currently serves as a thesis advisor for undergraduate students in Arts Management at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, a top-tier music institution in South China. He is also a marching band instructor and actively researches arts management. Chan has previously been a consultant for the Hong Kong Film Censorship Board and is currently a funding assessor for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (Music Division). His work is dedicated to advancing percussion music and fostering deeper exchanges across the Asia-Pacific region and the Greater China area.
